Fiona Chanter
Fiona Chanter works mainly in watercolour now, but started her artistic endeavours sculpting pieces for Meroogal Woman’s Art Prize in Nowra where her works were selected for the travelling exhibition on several occasions. On retiring to the Illawarra she started attending classes with Elsbeth McCombe and gaining a love of watercolour, collage mixed media and pastels. She has since exhibited with Red Point Arts Port Kembla and at various shows in the South Coast and Illawarra.
Andrew Saunders
Andrew Saunders is an Artist and Musician. He has been making sculptures for many years. He was fortunate enough to be accepted into ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ Bondi in 2002, and sold his commissioned works to Paris, Point Piper and several local places. He has won first prize in the Thirroul Seaside Arts Festival in 2018 and has exhibited widely in the South Coast, Illawarra and Highlands areas. He works in many mediums. He made the gates for the Thirroul Community Garden and was then commissioned to make other gates. He has made a series of glass domed lamps, and several eclectic animal figures and collages using mixed media.
Catherine O'Doherty

Catherine O’Doherty is a Thirroul‑based watercolour artist whose work blends botanical precision with quiet, atmospheric stillness. Returning to painting during a cancer diagnosis, she rebuilt her practice through close observation. This period reshaped her artistic voice, giving her work its signature clarity, tenderness, and contemplative depth.

Working primarily in watercolour and pen‑and‑wash, O’Doherty often explores still‑life arrangements featuring florals, glass vessels, and coastal botanicals. Her paintings are known for their refined edges, luminous glazing, and a palette that allows form and space to breathe. Across her subjects, she seeks the emotional charge inside ordinary objects, creating images that feel intimate, grounded, and quietly resonant.

O’Doherty continues to develop a body of work that sits between realism and atmosphere — a practice rooted in attention, shaped by resilience, and unmistakably her own.

Instagram: @watercolourbycatherine
