Deviation is a contemporary group exhibition bringing together a diverse collective of local Northern Illawarra artists who have stepped beyond their everyday paths to explore creative expression. United by place yet distinct in practice, each artist responds to the landscape, rhythms, and quiet moments that shape life along the coast and escarpment.
Featuring ceramic, mosaic, painting, and mixed media works, the exhibition highlights the unique perspectives of Tilly Langworthy, Shirley Gavin, Karen Yarrow, and Lindsay Fisher. From organic forms and nostalgic reflections to shifting horizons, Deviation celebrates both personal transformation and a shared connection to environment.
This exhibition invites audiences to experience the beauty, complexity, and evolving identity of the Northern Illawarra through the eyes of artists who have chosen to diverge and create.

Tilly Langworthy
Tilly Langworthy is a Wollongong-based ceramicist. Tilly grew up in the Blue Mountains and continues to draw on the landscape in her practice.
A graduate of the National Art School, Tilly focusses on exploring natural forms and the quiet, nostalgic moments found in the everyday people and places that make up her world.
Shirley Gavin
Shirley is a talented mixed media artist who transitioned from a background in architectural drafting to embrace her passion for expressive art.
From her home on the Wombarra escarpment, Shirley is influenced by the many changes she sees on the horizon and is challenged to discover new ways to express the changes she sees in the horizon.
Karen Yarrow
<p>Karen is a local artist who is actively reigniting her love of the visual arts. A personal fitness trainer and lover of the great outdoors, Karen is a passionate creative who is inspired by the landscape and florals found in the Northern Illawarra. </p> <p>Karen works to capture the colours, textures and moments that make this part of the world so special, reconnecting with her creativity to celebrate the beauty of her environment. </p>
